At Soul Sanctuary, we believe trees are companions on life’s journey steady, wise, and quietly supportive.
Our Befriend a Tree initiative invites you to form a meaningful connection with one of the trees in our woodland by dedicating a ribbon in honour of someone or something close to your heart.
Whether you are remembering a loved one, giving a symbolic gift, marking a milestone, or simply feeling called to connect with nature, this gentle gesture offers space for reflection, presence, and belonging.
Why Befriending a Tree Matters
Trees are among our planet’s greatest guardians.
They purify our air, cool the atmosphere, hold the soil through storms, and create shelter for thousands of living beings. More than 1.6 billion people worldwide depend on forests for food, medicine, fuel, and livelihoods.
At Soul Sanctuary, our 19-acre woodland is home to thousands of trees. Each one woven into a web of birds, insects, fungi, mosses, mammals, and unseen networks beneath the soil. Caring for even one tree supports an entire living community.
By Befriending a Tree, you join us in this work of gentle stewardship.
Your dedication helps support the ongoing care and wellbeing of our woodland, the biodiversity protection and habitat restoration. The maintenance of forest paths and gathering spaces and future planting and conservation efforts
Most of all, it creates a moment of connection between you, the land, and the wider living world.
How It Works
Fill in the Dedication Form
Share your name, email, type of dedication, who you are befriending the tree for, and the tree species you’ve chosen.
Complete Your Purchase using PayPal
After submitting the form, you’ll be directed to complete your payment securely through PayPal.
Receive Your Certificate
Once we confirm payment, you’ll receive a personalised digital certificate with your dedication details and unique tree number.
Ribbon Placement
All ribbons will be tied to their trees during our ceremony on March 14th 2026.
After March, ribbons for new purchases will be placed within 2 weeks.
Visit Your Tree
You are welcome to visit your tree after the ribbon is placed. Please call ahead so someone can guide you.

The Ribbons We Use
Each dedication is represented by a simple jute ribbon tied around a tree branch in the Soul Sanctuary woodland.
These ribbons are environmentally considerate, symbolic gestures of love, remembrance, hope and gratitude.
They mark a connection; quiet, visible, and rooted in care.
Pricing
Each dedication is priced at €33. Your purchase directly supports the care and maintenance of the Soul Sanctuary woodland, including but not limited to:
The ongoing health and wellbeing of our trees. The gentle upkeep of woodland paths. Stewardship and biodiversity protection. The ribbon materials and much more.

Tree types at Soul Sanctuary
With thousands of trees on our 19 acre site in Wexford you wont be short on choice. In the form select the type of tree you would like for your dedication.
- You will be sent a digital certificate, with your dedication details and unique tree number.
- Your ribbon will be placed on a tree in our woodland , either by you at the March event or by our team shortly after purchase.
- You are welcome to visit your tree during open periods.
- We may share occasional photographs of ribbons (without personal details).
- Your dedication becomes part of the living landscape at Soul Sanctuary.
During National Tree Week (8–15 March 2026), Soul Sanctuary will host a peaceful community gathering.
Participants will be invited to:
- walk the land
- choose a tree that resonates with them
- tie their own dedication ribbon
- spend reflective time in nature
For those unable to attend, our team will place the ribbon with equal care and intention.
Further details will be shared as the event approaches.
Each Befriend a Tree friendship lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. If you wish to continue supporting the woodland after this time, you’re very welcome to Befriend a Tree again.
Each “Befriend a Tree” dedication is a symbolic and lasting gesture, and proceeds go directly toward the ongoing care of the woodland.
For this reason, payments are generally non-refundable.
