Traditional Leather Craft Workshop with Dave Swift

We’re delighted to host CELT (Centre for Environmental Living and Training) here at Soul Sanctuary for a Weekend in the Woods — two hands-on traditional craft days set in our peaceful woodland near Camolin.

On Saturday 8th November, join expert craftsman Dave Swift for a one-day introduction to Traditional Leather Craft.
You’ll explore the history and uses of leather, get familiar with the tools, and create your own handmade piece — such as a belt, Viking-style belt, or medieval pouch.

Throughout the day you’ll learn techniques including cutting, stitching, riveting, and finishing, as well as decorative work and dyeing.
A materials fee (depending on what you make) will be payable directly to the tutor on the day.
Lunch is included, and all tools and materials are provided.

This workshop is run by CELT and facilitated by Soul Sanctuary as part of our growing collaboration in heritage skills and environmental education.
